Hey guys, just a reminder that the UW’s annual production of the Vagina Monologues is coming up on Valentine’s Day weekend – tickets go on sale starting January 30th from the HUB Ticket Office!
From the Student Activities Office website:
“Eve Ensler’s hit play the Vagina Monologues makes its annual appearance at UW. This event usually sells out so get your tickets early! V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. For information on the UW show, contact ASUW Women’s Action Commission Director at 543-1817, HUB 201, or asuwomn at u.washington.edu. Tickets available in February at the HUB Ticket Office, 543-2277. Doors open at 7:15, play starts at 8:00. See play details at http://www.vday.org”
I went and saw this production last year and it was awesome. Although I had read the Vagina Monologues before, nothing could prepare me for how amazing it is to actually see women (mostly metaphorically) bringing their vaginas out into the open. I can guarantee you, there is nothing else in the world quite like sitting in an audience full of people shouting “C-U-N-T.”
For some more totally awesome vagina-orgasm-loving, check out this spoken word poetry from Christa Bell. I saw her live once too, and she is incredible.
But I digress. The Vagina Monologues is awesome. Don’t miss it!
